Past Project: the Nature Fee
Between 2017 and 2019, ocean activity providers in Hawaii had the opportunity to contribute to Hawaii Ocean Watch projects by collecting a $5 “Nature Fee” from their participants. The fee served to support projects like the manta tour operator Greenlist and the Maritime Skills Training for Crews & Captains.
The project was quietly discontinued after a few years, as it was costing a lot of effort (manpower we simply don’t have) to collect contributions and follow up with owners of manta tour operations.
